Mr Swervy & Mr Pastry
Saxophone & Guitar Duo.

Stephane Spitz & Roger Pastry

Jazz, Blues, Gypsy Jazz, Latin, Jazzed up Classics, Songs from the Movies and The Great American Song Book .
Mr Swervy & Mr Pastry a.k.a Stephane Spitz and David Brown are two travelling musicians who met per chance at Stroud international folk festival in 1995 not realising at the time it would lead to a life time of playing music and making nutty street shows together.

We are interested in music in general and so we like to mix up the genres when we are playing and can effortlessly flit from a serious jazz ballad to a jolly uptempo cabaret tune.
We both have a remarkable memory for song arrangements and have built up a huge repetoir of interesting engaging tunes to acess just as the moment takes us.
Absolutely no music stands or tablets in sight here!
Please see our current repetoire tunes lower down this page.

We most like to play in settings where we are able to play at a reasonable level and not loud.
We have played on big stages but we are a little allergic to them and prefer intimate settings where we can bring an unique audience experience specific to the moment.

With battery powered amplifiers this is a good choice for venues void (or liberated) from electricity.
Round the fire, in a small marquee, a garden party, on a narrow boat or sailing ship, at a market, in a narrow street setting, these are the kind of perfect venues we like.

Together as a duo, we have also made backing music for theatre and circus shows and music for advertisements on YouTube.
